Business Problems 01 Fabrics

Sometimes running a business is fun and sometimes it's like pulling your teeth out.

We have a limited range of products. That was the choice we made to start the business to gauge reaction and see what the customers thoughts of us were.

So we gathered enough fabric to start with, knowing our suppliers were there for us when orders came in.

Well the PSYCHE jeans have proven very popular and before long the standard black was flying out of the door. So people started to look at other colours. We had this amazing silver fabric that had such a shine to it we could not wait to see it on people and being worn.

When we came to start cutting the fabric we noticed some flaws with it and we were not happy to create jeans with what we saw so we went back to the supplier to get some more silver fabric. That did not go well as the silver fabric they now presented us was nowhere near as good as the black pvc we were using.

Sadly we had no choice but to suspend the silver option whilst we looked elsewhere for what was quite a unique weight of pvc fabric.

Then recently, as we finished putting orders together for the red, white and blue PSYCHE jeans we went back to our supplier and paid for new material only to find that when the material arrived, it was not the same as the black pvc we wanted and was unusable.

Rows followed and the supplier went bust ! Closed down.

So we not only lost of fabric but lost the money buying what we thought would be the right material to use for future orders.

With no other local supplier we have had to suspend other colour options in the PSYCHE jeans.

Luckily the black material we have so much of we could make clothes for half the world !!

So we now plan to go to the major cities closely and start looking for new suppliers who can offer us what we need.

We are sorry that we have had to limit the colour options but we will never create products for our customers using inferior materials.

We hope to have good news soon and add the colour options back on!

That's if all this does not turn the production team grey first !
